RIVERSIDE—Deaf bikers from all over southern California will be joining together to start their 26th Annual Silent Sleigh in Riverside, California. The bikers will ride from San Luis Obispo all the way down to the Mexican border.

According to the Press Enterprise, The Silent Sleigh was started by former California School for the Deaf, Riverside (CSDR) Superintendent Harold Kund as a way for deaf and hard of hearing children to experience Christmas like any other child.

The Silent Sleigh is a Christmas themed motorcycle parade that includes a ’Meet Santa’ opportunity with a Santa that knows American Sign Language so he can listen to the child’s Christmas wishes.

The Silent Sleigh will occur on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Any bikers that are interested in participating in this event or future events are encouraged to email Paul Stefurak at paulstefurak@popbox.com or access the Southern California Deaf Bikers’ Calendar of Events at: http://www.deafmotorcyclelinks.com/sca/coe.htm.
