LOS ANGELES—A 39-year-old man named Tyrone L. Jones died from a car collision on Saturday, June 26. The driver is suspected of leaving the scene.

At 10:30 p.m., the LAPD South Traffic Officers responded to a call of the incident in the area of Broadway and 91st Street. When they arrived, they saw “a man lying on the ground unresponsive.” The investigators are saying that the driver was heading southbound, on their way to 91st St. when the victim was hit while crossing the eastbound street on Broadway. The driver failed to help and left the scene, driving onward.

The Los Angeles City Fire Department and paramedic personnel also responded to the scene and pronounced him dead.

While there is “no one in custody,” Officer Sara Faden of the Media Relations of the LAPD says, “It is encouraged to help so as to bring justice to the family.”  The suspect was driving a green Chevy Lumina with a California license plate of 6COW072. Later, it was found and taken into police custody.
