UNITED STATES—Four men have been indicted for their role in the June 18 fatal shooting of 20-year-old Florida rapper, XXXTentation. XXXTentation real name is Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy. A Broward County grand jury sentenced Michael Boatwright, 22, Dedrick Williams, 22, Robert Allen, and Trayvon Newsome on Thursday, July 19. All four men are charged with 1st degree murder and armed robbery with a firearm.

Boatwright and Williams were already in Broward County Jail on charges related to the incident. According to police, Boatwright was arrested on July 5 on unrelated drug charges. He was served an arrest warrant for first-degree murder while in police custody. Williams was arrested 2 days after the killing, and charged with first-degree murder.

Authorities indicated that Robert Allen, nicknamed “Big Rob” and “Fat Boy,” as well as Trayvon Newsome are still at large. Newsome is the only one of the four suspects charged with the rapper’s murder without a prior criminal record.

XXXTentation was shot and killed on June 18. According to the Miami Herald, the rapper stopped at a Bank of America and took out $50,000 in $100 bills, placing the cash in a Louis Vuitton bag. He drove to Deerfield Beach’s Riva Motorsports to look at motorcycles. He was fatally shot while attempting to exit the parking lot with a friend. The gunman took the Louis Vuitton bag full of cash and fled the scene.

XXXTentation got his start as a SoundCloud Rapper, quickly gaining millions of followers outside of the mainstream. He landed a No. 1 album in March 2018, titled “17.” XXXTentation was facing legal troubles before his death including aggravated battery of a pregnant victim, false imprisonment and witness tampering. The rapper’s mother announced on Instagram several days after her son’s death, that his girlfriend was pregnant with his child.
