WEST LOS ANGELES—A 60-year-old woman was fatally struck by a driver and the Los Angeles Police Department West Traffic Detectives are requesting the public’s help in order to find the suspect.

The incident occurred on Thursday, December 2, at about 9:17 p.m. when the victim named Razia Shariff, living in Los Angeles, had gotten out of her car. It was a Honda CRV “that was parked on the west side of Centinela Avenue and north of Nebraska Avenue,” as stated in the police department’s press release. She was hit by an unidentified car that was heading southbound on Centinela Avenue.

The driver of the unidentified car committed a hit-and-run when the car immediately left the scene, not stopping to help the female victim or identifying himself/herself “as required by law.”

The woman was left with extensive blunt force trauma injuries. The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics had rushed the victim to a local hospital where she died.
