SHERMAN OAKS—On October 19, a fatal hit-and-run collision claimed the life of a 16-year-old Notre Dame High School student from Sherman Oaks who was attempting to jog across Woodman Avenue, midblock north of Riverside Drive and south of Addison Street.

The Los Angeles Police Department reported that Conor Lynch was jogging across Woodman Avenue when he was hit by a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe traveling northbound at approximately 3:30 p.m. Moran Biton, the 18-year-old driver of the SUV from Sherman Oaks, failed to stop after the collision and continued driving northbound for several blocks before LAPD placed her under arrest.

Lynch was pronounced dead at the scene. After her arrest, Biton was taken into custody and booked into Van Nuys jail for felony hit-and-run. She was released on $50,000-bail.
