WEST HOLLYWOOD—Actor Asaf Goldstien, who is becoming one of Hollywood’s favorite leading men, has won acclaim for his performance at a Tel Aviv theatre performing in “Zohar”. Catching up with the star recently, he explains in great humor a part he’s never played before. “Tommy, I play the character of Nisim. He can best be described as a criminal. He starts as a friend of the great singer Zohar Argov, then helps him in the beginning to achieve his stardom. But then he gives him drugs and becomes very famous in the underworld, then he demands the money the singer owes him. When the singer doesn’t give him back the money he sends some tough people after Zohar. They call them thugs and hoodlums,” said Goldstien. “It’s a great character to play for me, a villain they call him, which is always challenging to play.”

A challenge, is what the handsome Hebrew leading man loves most. His desire for stardom is palpable and his love for theatre and films is only eclipsed by his love for his family. “Whenever I get a break, I try to get home to revive myself. I enjoy my friends and family. Spending time with them means so much to me. We just celebrated Yom Kippur last week. Fasting was pretty tough for me, since I love to eat, but I did it,” said Asaf laughing.

Goldstien has appeared on soaps internationally and just completed a film in his homeland of Israel. Asaf lives for premieres and opening nights. “You always think you are going to forget the words, the movements, but it’s like riding your bicycle, when the wind blows on your face and the smile stays there! Opening night was all that and even more. I cannot wait for my next,” concluded Goldstien.

The handsome star promises to come to Canyon News when there is news on his upcoming big screen release.
