HOLLYWOOD-The first season of Tyler Perry’s “The Haves and Have Notes” wrapped in grandeur fashion. Not only was the vixen Candace (Tika Sumpter) kidnapped by Jim’s (John Schneider) henchmen, but his son Wyatt (Aaron O’Connell) was taken into custody for hit-and-run charges. Season two picked up precisely where the season one finale concluded, with the Cryer family and the Young family dealing with the chaos involving Wyatt. The episode amply titled “You’ll Be Sorry” was more about characters unleashing some truths to their respective counterparts.

Kathryn (Renee Lawless) was emotional and betrayed when she discovered that Hanna (Crystal Fox) turned her son into authorities. It was absolutely heartbreaking to watch because these two women have become very close friends, from Hanna’s situation with Benny (Tyler Lepley) being arrested, to Kathryn’s battle with cancer. The ladies have developed a strong friendship bond that all the other characters are aloof to. While Kathryn was enraged to begin with, she began to sympathize with Hanna, but wanted her to understand she was doing all she could to protect her son.

The audience knows something happened to Wyatt as a child, but just what has not been exposed. Hanna was relieved to know that Benny was at Mercy Hospital being cared for by a special team of doctors, but before she could take off Jim unleashed a few harsh words to his former maid. Vowing to make her pay for what she has done. He was thrown for a loop after learning Kathryn moved Benny against his wishes.

The husband and wife argued about their son’s predicament. “I don’t need to go to hell, I live in hell, I’m married to the Devil,” quipped Jim to Kathryn. Indeed a clever line.

In other couple’s news, Veronica (Angela Robinson) and David (Peter Parros) discussed issues involving Candace and Jeffrey (Gavin Ross). Her hubby was none too pleased to discover his wife was up to something and attempted to divert the conversation when David wanted to discuss Jeffrey’s sexuality. This woman is sickening with the way that she treats her son. Finally, David unleashed a bit of rage against his wife about her odd behavior and it led to a screaming match between the couple.

Jeffrey found himself being called out by Landon for attempting to cover his sexuality by dating a woman, but the conversation was cut short when news of Wyatt’s arrest surfaced. Wyatt found himself being questioned by authorities in the hit and run case, and did his best to stay silent, but some undercover cop tactics soon led to the troubled one releasing some details about the night that Benny and the little girl was struck by the Black Sedan. I have a feeling a big twist will happen that audiences won’t see coming.

Maggie did her best to attempt to control the situation, but it was apparent Jim and David already had plans in motion. I have a feeling they’ve taken steps to get their hands on the one witness who could finger Wyatt. This does not bode good news for those seeking justice. Maggie has been a thorn in the Cryer and Harrington families, especially since Veronica suspects that Maggie has an attraction to her hubby. That would be an interesting development to transpire in the series, which will unleash a fury from Veronica audiences are dying to see.

Candace found herself tied up in a dark place, thanks to Jim’s cohorts who are pushing for the vixen to leave town. Their demands: leave Jim alone and stay away from Amanda. But the stubborn one was having none of it, as she vowed to exact vengeance on the man who has ripped her life apart. Jim has already made one enemy in Candace, and now has another enemy in the District Attorney who is prosecuting the case against his son.

The DA has a vendetta that seems inculpable. Hanna finally got to see Benny, where she discovered that her son has signs of brain activity and his condition is slowly improving. Could Benny be waking up soon? Let’s hope he was nearly MIA most of the second half of the first season. The final moments of the episode saw Wyatt begin to confess to his involvement in the hit and run, but I have a feeling Jim will come to his rescue in a nic of time. Things are definitely heating up and I can’t wait to see what happens next week. Tyler Perry’s “The Haves and Have Nots” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on OWN.
