VAN NUYS—Actress Amanda Bynes was arrested on Sunday, September 28 by officials from the California Highway Patrol for driving under the influence of a drug. According to reports, the actress was under the influence of an unknown controlled substance.

The actress who has had several prior run-ins with the law was detained near the San Fernando Valley.  The actress posted a $15,000 bail and was released. Bynes grew to fame on the Nickelodeon sketch series “All That” and “The Amanda Show” in the 90s and early 2000s. She later parlayed her success in television to the big screen with roles in movies like “Big Fat Liar,” “She’s the Man,” “Hairspray” and “Easy A” alongside Emma Stone.

In March 2012, the actress was arrested and charged for DUI after striking a police vehicle in West Hollywood. In April 2012, the actress was involved in a hit-and-run incident and then another one in August 2012.

She was arrested at her apartment in Manhattan in May 2013 for criminal possession of marijuana, attempted tampering with evidence and reckless endangerment. Reports noted the actress threw a bong from her window from her apartment floor, claiming to authorities that it was a vase.

On July 22, 2013, the actress started a small fire in the driveway of a person’s home in Thousand Oaks and was taken into custody on a psychiatric evaluation. In August 2013, Bynes’ mother was granted conservatorship over her daughter’s wellbeing.
