HOLLYWOOD—Another “Maleficent” movie is headed to the big screen. A sequel is planned for the Disney hit and it includes Angelina Jolie and the film’s screenwriter Linda Woolverton and producer Joe Roth.

Jolie has admitted to enjoying her role as Maleficent. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in March 2014, the actress revealed, “I loved being Maleficent. I was quite sad to put my staff down and put my horns away because somehow, she just lives in a different world. But I did have to take my staff home to practice walking with it in my cloak, and then I would go outside and scream at the bushes to expand my voice and play with my voice. So, Mom was a bit nutso for a period.”

As for her husband’s opinion of her role, Jolie added during the interview: “He thinks she’s cool.”

Jolie’s daughter Vivienne played a role in “Maleficent” as the young sleeping beauty.

The film grossed nearly $760 million worldwide.

The actress has appeared in movies that include “Wanted,” “The Tourist,” and “Salt.” She recently stepped behind the camera to direct “Unbroken.”

She played Mrs. Smith in the 2005 movie “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” alongside her husband, actor Brad Pitt. The two met while on set of the action-film.
