MALIBU—On Thursday, July 23, at approximately 8:30 a.m., a minor rock slide was reported to have occurred north of the 19400 block of Pacific Coast Highway.

Due to the rock slide, one of the lanes on the Northbound PCH has been shut down, but there have been no reports of any traffic issues because of the closure.

Both the California Highway Patrol and Cal Tran are on the scene addressing the situation. This is the second rock slide to have occurred on PCH this week, but not as massive as the one that occurred earlier this week. The rock slides are in response to the recent storm that hit southern California in the past week.

The rock slide was reported to Canyon News by the Palisades Patrol, which is a security company that has business in Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Santa Monica, Brentwood, and Conejo Valley.

The Northbound PCH lane is still closed and no specific time frame has been released by officials as to when the road will re-open.
