SHERMAN OAKS—One apartment caught fire in Sherman Oaks on Friday, December 31. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, no one was harmed.

Fire officials were notified of the incident at 2:46 p.m. and the fire was under control by 3:05 p.m. Firefighters were called to 4355 N. Sepulveda Blvd., a four-story condominium, according to LAFD spokesperson Cecil Manresa.

When interviewed by Canyon News, Manresa also said that the cause of fire has not been determined by the LAFD, but the incident would be further investigated by the Arson Department.

This incident is just one of many that occur during the winter season. According to Manresa, people tend to use more sources of heat during the holidays and cold weather; thus, creating a higher probability for a fire to occur.
