Interview With The Gypsy
Posted by M. Cherise Perez on Dec 4, 2005 - 2:55:00 PM

“Hello, don’t you guys have dead folk??” This was Gypsy Maggie Rose’s incredulous initial reaction when she moved to Australia from Wales at the age of thirteen. Maggie grew up in a gypsy household, following the traditions of her Romany heritage and a seven generation legacy of psychics on both sides of the family. As a child, she always accepted her ability to communicate with the spiritual world. These psychic powers were “as natural as breathing and something I simply never questioned,” says Maggie. “I spend so much time on the other side, sometimes I am not sure which world I am actually in.”

Maggie is well accustomed to transcending boundaries and navigating between different worlds. While a child in Wales, Maggie alternated between maintaining a “normal” lifestyle and going to school, and the free-flowing nomadic lifestyle common to the Romany people. She faced difficulties on both sides – mothers of the non-gypsy friends would discourage them from playing with her, while some gypsies would resent her family for living in a house and having such amenities as shoes and a bed to sleep in.

The psychic abilities passed down to Maggie from her grandmother, her “spiritual leader.” Most of the family accepts Maggie’s practices, but when it comes to their own lives and destinies, Maggie describes that they feel “a bit like don’t go there mum, we need to sort things out [ourselves].” One of most painful aspects of her talents is the ability to divine tragic events in her own family. She foretold the deaths of three of her eleven siblings, and two of her five children. She has also had visions related to disasters such as Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans, and 9/11.

“This gift is a two-edged sword,” says Maggie. “It carries a price and responsibility.” Maggie shares her gifts by working on missing persons cases, helping people to find their loved ones. The results are often painful, but she feels obligated to give back for the gifts that she has received. She also performs positive healing rituals, and helps guide people to paths that will bring them happiness.

She accesses her abilities through a variety of different methods. Her activities include tarot readings, astrology and numerology, sessions to channel the Archangel Gabriel to speak through her, and crossing over sessions when she communicates with the other side. She reaches people through an international telephone consulting line, email readings, on-air readings during her three weekly radio shows, CDs, and workshops on topics such as Self Development, Angel Awareness, and Divination.

Multiple faiths intersect within the spectrum of Maggie’s spiritual beliefs. She was raised in the Catholic faith, but was not permitted to talk to the priest about her psychic abilities. She also practices Wicca as a High Priestess and is a Reiki healer. She performs angel healings and loves speaking to and teaching about angels.

On her communication with the other side, she says that “they come when they need to, not when it is convenient, and they don’t make appointments.” She frequently converses with angels the way one would talk to a close friend, discussing anything and everything -- from light topics such as clothing, to intense issues like murder victims. She has even communicated with a spoiled pig named Henry!

While Maggie sees her fair share of celebrities and politicians, she finds that most of her clients are “normal people who just want to be happy and loved.” She cautions people to listen to their instincts when consulting a psychic, and to only take the meaningful portions of her experience to heart. For Gypsy Maggie Rose, these psychic abilities are more of a lifestyle than a profession. She lives a life full of love and healing, and she takes joy in using her experiences to educate and heal others. “I believe knowledge plus experience equals wisdom,” says Maggie. She considers herself as a guide, helping people to “manifest the life you wish to live.”

Her website is scheduled for release soon.
