LOS ANGELES - Juan Herrera, a volleyball coach who has worked at high schools in and around Los Angeles County, was arrested Tuesday, charged with “trying to seduce students,” according to a Los Angeles Police Department News Release.
Two students, age 15 and 16, both reported the inappropriate behavior of their coach. One was “touched…in a sexual manner,” and the other “reported that Herrera showed her adult pornography and attempted to expose himself.”
Since this coach has worked at a few schools in the area, including Polytechnic High School, Granada Hills High School, and Taft High School, these recent reports from Polytechnic High may not be the only cases of abuse. According to the L.A.P.D., Herrera may have committed these crimes at “his Studio City apartment; the Rumba room…where he worked as a bartender; and in the North Hollywood area.” Other victims or witnesses with more information are encouraged to come forward.
