What's Hot in 2007!

All that we see or seem, is but a dream within a dream- Edgar Allan Poe

Axl Rose is saying that the long-delayed Guns N' Roses album, "Chinese Democracy" may be coming out in 2007. He wrote on the band's Web site www.gunsnroses.com , "This is not a promise, a lie or a guarantee, but we do wish to announce a tentative release date of March 6". So there is hope. In the past, the album would be just postponed indefinitely, now it has at least a tentative date. There is absolutely no reason to think it won't. In the open letter to his fans, he also included the breaking news that the band has split from its manager, Merck Mercuriadis, and it's never hard to move ahead with a new album while management is being changed.  "Chinese Democracy"  is the first GNR album since it's 1993 "The Spaghetti Incident".  It's been in the works for over a decade. One thing is for sure, he has the support of his faithful and devoted fans.

It is no secret that "High School Musical" is a huge success. It first debuted in January 2006 on the Disney channel, and when the DVD came out in May 2006, it was estimated that over 87 million watched it, and every time it airs, the numbers climb. "HSM", co-stars Zac Efron, Vanessa Anne Hudgens, Corbin Bleu, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel and Monique Coleman (seen in "Dancing With The Stars"). "High School Musical" is phenomenal, with its platinum certified soundtrack breaking all-time records. The best-selling album, with so far 3.4 million copies sold, did not receive a Grammy nomination. It's the first time the year's No. 1 album didn't receive a nomination in one of the four categories; record of the year, best song, best new artist, or album of the year, since the Spice Girls', "Spice" was snubbed in 1997. You have to wonder why HSM was overlooked? The reason seems to be; the multi-act collaboration wasn't eligible for new artist, and none of the songs were released as a single, eliminating it from record of the year. The musical is huge among teens and tweens, so it should be no surprise that a production of the musical would be in the works from Disney Theatrical Productions. My daughter Kelly Olszuk, a huge fan of the movie, has caught the acting bug.  She has been cast in a small part for the production of "High School Musical" that is currently in rehearsals for early 2007. I will keep you posted on details. "High School Musical 2" will begin filming in early 2007.

Here is a prediction from India's astrologer Anand Soni for 2007. According to India's Mumbai Midday newspaper , Soni has predicted that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will split in December 2007, and Brad Pitt will return to Jennifer Aniston next year. The astrologer who met Pitt and Jolie in Pune, India, where the couple are filming "A Might Heart" informed the couple that Pitt is "mentally very much together" with his ex, also adding "There is no reason why they should not become close again".

Will Smith maybe on his way to becoming the the No. 1 biggest movie star in the world. In his latest portrayal of a financially strapped homeless man along with his real life son Jaden in "The Pursuit of Happyness", we see him lining up every afternoon outside of a shelter for the homeless, hoping to spend the night on a cot. The movie is based on the true story of Chris Gardner, whose rags-to riches story first appeared on ABC's "20/20" which led to several movie producers' interest in his story. Chris Gardner, who appeared on "Oprah" a few weeks prior had the audience and viewers in tears after his compelling, tear-jerking story about his childhood years. The self-made millionaire is so humble and it was a real pleasure to listen to him; especially when he mentioned that while most rich people live in million dollar mansions they never spend time with their children. While struggling with his despair he was always there for his son, spending time with him, no matter what. Will Smith's wife, actress Jada Pinkett Smith has donated $1 million to the Baltimore School for the Arts, the high school she attended with Tupac Shakur, and has asked that its new theater be dedicated in the late rapper's honor.

Out with the old, and ring in the New Year with Panic! at the Disco, the sizzling hot punkers will be performing a couple of songs from "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out"  on NBC's "New Year's Eve" with Carson Daly.

Rose's Scoop:  Did you know Rod Stewart is a soccer fan? Yes, he was among the 60,000 people in attendance at Celtic Park in Glasglow, Scotland last month. The L.A Times is reporting that Britney Spears will be appearing at the swank nightclub "Pure" in Las Vegas on Dec. 31 to party and count down the seconds left in 2006.

Wishing everyone a happy, safe, and healthy New Year!
