CULVER CITY - LA Fashion week launched this past Sunday at Smashbox studios in Culver City. The most exciting event of the first day was the BEBE show that occurred in front of a star studded audience. With the sound of bass rocking hard enough to feel thru the floor, amazons in platinum bob-cut wigs stomped the runway for stars such as Eva Longoria, Rebecca Romaijn, Virginia Madsen and Devon Aoki. Ethereal Lost star Emilie De Ravin, Hollywood  twins Tia and Tamera Mowry and socialite Lydia Hearst also sat front row for the show.

The Collection BEBE was a line of contradictory elements. Peace signs were visible as hardware badges hanging from military inspired jackets. Dark greens and leather trim were staples through out the collection and were very much the masculine part of the “War & Peace” theme. Designer David Cardona boasts a collection that “explores the contrast between the rigors of conflict and a peaceful sense of optimism for the future.” Though the collection was more literal with its interpretation of peace, with the use of visible peace signs on garments, it did project a futuristic aura with its red lipped and identically platinum blond coiffed models. Some standout pieces of the show include a long slinky jersey dress with noir leather criss-cross banding and a hooded ivory crepe and silk chiffon ‘Angel of Peace’ themed dress.
