For those with short memories or not living in the Los Angeles area when it was announced that Frank McCourt would become the new owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the transaction was greeted with great derision by the mainstream press. McCourt, it was said, didnt have the financial resources, the experience, or the smarts to run the Dodgers. He would be a disgrace to Dodger tradition. Those who said that seemed to have amnesia concerning the Fox organization, which sold the team to McCourt.
