BEVERLY HILLS— The City Council of Beverly Hills, at its adjourned regular meeting to be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the City Hall, 455 North Rexford Drive, Beverly Hills, California 90210 will hold a public hearing to consider:
The resolution of the council of the city of Beverly Hills authorizing the purchase of police equipment to be funded by the city's citizens option for public safety (COPS) allocation.
As part of the state's budget, the State Legislature appropriates $100 million from the State General Fund each year to countries and cities to ensure public safety. In order to utilize the City's surplus COPS Allocation to purchase police equipment, which supports front line police services, a public hearing is required.
All interested persons are invited to speak on this matter. Written comments are also invited and should be addressed to the City Council, c/o City Clerk, 455 North Rexford Drive, Room 190, Beverly Hills, CA 90210 and should be received prior to the public hearing.
If you challenge the Council's action in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the hearing before the City Council or in written correspondence delivered to the City, either at or prior to the hearing.
