LOS ANGELES—It’s Labor Day weekend, and your grill is probably heating as we speak. Hamburgers and hot dogs should not be the only dishes on the menu. Keep in mind delicious appetizers will go a long way and keep people occupied before the main meal. Here in California, we love our avocados, and this recipe takes advantage of their creamy texture and palatable flavor to create a smooth dip that goes well with vegetables, crackers, or even slathered on your burger. It is bursting with green essence from not only avocados, but also cilantro, Serrano pepper and green onions. Slide a bowl of this dip on the table, and it will be gone before you know it.
