A Taste Of Niagara On The Lake
Posted by Ruta Lee on Sep 21, 2008 - 4:30:19 PM

Niagara on the Lake is an elegant refuge away from the hubbub of Niagara Falls. Surrounded by vineyards, it is truly a verdant paradise”¬¶well, in the summer months. Fall here must be spectacular as well, and Christmas totally magical. This pretty town has many points and activities of interest, lots of wineries, good theater and wonderful accommodations, from a Best Western, family-oriented hotel to many charming hotels and Bed and Breakfasts.

We were fortunate in our choice of the Shaw Club Hotel and Spa, one of several under the banner NFI, Niagara’s Finest Inns. Others being the Harbor House, with 31 guest rooms, and the Charles Inn, with 12 guest rooms. Both are uniquely and comfortably welcoming with outstanding restaurants and superior wine lists. Now, a little more about the Shaw Club Hotel and Spa, it is vastly different from its sister hotels, it is very contemporary in style and attitude, but soft and welcoming in comfort.

The amenities are well thought out: Plasma TVs, feathered top beds, gorgeous bathrooms, enormous double headed showers, to name a few.

For business travelers, the Shaw Club Hotel and Spa offers a very workable meeting room with all the tech facilities as well as a fitness room, and a den for guests where coffee, tea and cappuccino are available all day and night, plus a library of DVDs that can be taken and played in guest rooms.

Zees Patio and Grill will please the most discriminating palate. Their variety of Martinis will bring a smile and an A-plus from connoisseurs.

The jewel of the the Shaw Club Hotel and Spa is the spa itself, offering an exciting refuge for body and soul with an extensive array of treatments. One of the unique services Vinotherapy makes use of is the antioxidant benefits of grapes. Other exclusive techniques use maple and chocolate”¬¶ Oooh la la!

All the creature comforts of the the Shaw Club Hotel and Spa are handled with kid gloves and winning attitude by general manager, Amy Wolgram, and her staff of gorgeous young people eager to please. I heartily recommend a visit to Niagara on the Lake, Canada at any of the NFI accommodations. My favorite, however, is the the Shaw Club Hotel and Spa, on 92 Picton Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario LOS 1J0. Phone (800) 511-7070 or see them on the web at www.shawclub.com.
