WEST HOLLYWOOD—It’s cherry blossom time, which brings Japan to mind… and being a Japanese Food enthusiast, I am delighted to report on a real find... Omi Sushi, centrally located in the heart of West Hollywood.
The chef takes great pride in amazing combination rolls (as well he should). His albacore/tuna sashimi with crispy fried onions is the best I've ever tasted. He works his artistic magic with sauces to suit your taste buds, spicy or mild but never boring.
The food variety is endless: soups, exotic salads, ribs, Chilean Sea bass. For those who have not yet developed the taste for sashimi (fresh sliced, raw fish) there are countless combinations of delicious cooked meats, seafood, and vegetables.
Of course, sake! …very hot or cold and icy cold beers round out the meal.
We were made welcome and comfortable by the Omi staff in their small but cozy and very clean digs. The chef/owner, Jackie Song, fills your plate with not only superb food but with satisfying hospitality.
Omi Sushi is located at 8163 Santa Monica Blvd (north side, just west of Crescent Heights). There is parking next door. Omi Sushi delivers in the area. They are able to cater and serve private events to suit your needs. They are open 7 days a week. Hours vary between 11:30 a.m. and 12 a.m.
