The Summer Institute is offering 10 courses.
NORTHRIDGE—The National Center On Deafness at California State University, Northridge (NCOD/CSUN) will be holding their 7th Annual Summer Institute from June 16–June 20. The summer session invites ASL interpreters and interpreting students of all levels to attend the institute to continue their “ongoing professional development plan.”

The institute will be holding 10 classes: Deaf-Blind Interpreting: Going From Fear to Fun, Audism, Digging Even Deeper-Morphing the Morphemes, ASL to English: Team Interpreting, Theatrical Interpreting: An Overview, Grassroots Interpreting, Today's ASL and Signing Culture, Legal Interpreting: An Overview, Interpreting Culturally Rich Realities, and The Interpreted Life: Creating a Life You Love!

Each class costs $35 for non–CSUN employees, unless the non–CSUN employee has registered for all 10 courses; then each course is only $25. CSUN employees pay $25 dollars for each course taken and ITPs pay $20 for each course taken. A flyer on the CSUN/NCOD website explains each courses description at the following link: http://www.csun.edu/ncod/pdfs/event2014jun16-20.pdf.

All the courses for the institute will be held at the Jeanne Chisholm Hall in the NCOD, check-in will take place in the NCOD's lobby. The deadline to register for a course during the summer institute was May 30. Once a course is registered for, a refund will not be given unless the course is canceled.
