TOPANGA—This weekend celebrate Memorial Day by
attending the 35th Annual Topanga Days County Fair. The fair is thrown
every year to celebrate and preserve the Earth. There will be a wide range of musical
acts including Indie, Bluegrass, Rock, and Latin Funk. There will also be
booths with food and crafts, and, with the addition of two stages, there will
be side stage attractions with more than 50 artists, bands, and performers.
The Topanga Days press release states: “Situated in an idyllic canyon
within the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains, just 6 miles north of Pacific
Coast Highway and 6 miles south of Ventura Blvd., Topanga Days is a short
journey and welcome respite from the daily grind of life in a sprawling
metropolis. The festival has an ethereal way of transporting even the most
blackberry/ pinkberry-addicted urbanite to another time and place with great
music in a feel-good community environment.”
Past performers include John Doe, Veruca Salt, Chevy Metal (Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins) and
Dead Rock West. This year the festival will highlight the “annual Memorial Day
Parade, holistic therapists, environmentally-friendly products from local artists and producers, and
the staples of any great fair – distinctive food and cold beer.”
The festival will take place at the Topanga Community House on 1440 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd. All proceeds will go to the Topanga Canyon Community Club. For more information and parking directions please visit: www.topangadays.com
