"Great to Be Nominated Film" Series Part 4
(Academy of Motion Picture & Arts)
The "Great To Be Nominated" series, featuring the picture from each Academy Awards® year that received the most nominations without winning the Best Picture award, continues its fourth installment.
Features start at 7:00 p.m. and shorts at 7:30 p.m.
August 6 - The Godfather, Part III (1990)
August 13 - Bugsy (1991)
August 20 - Howards End (1992)
Individual tickets are $5 for the general public and $3 for Academy members and students with a valid ID.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m. (one hour before the feature).  All seating is unreserved. The Samuel Goldwyn Theater is located at 8949 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills. For additional information, please call the Academy at (310) 247-3600.

Beverly Hills, CA - Rarely seen home movies from the
personal collections of Hollywood legends such as Alfred Hitchcock, Esther Williams and Steve McQueen will screen during the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' presentation of "Hollywood Home Movies:
Treasures from the Academy Film Archive" on Saturday, August 11, at 7 p.m. at the Linwood Dunn Theater at the Academy's Pickford Center for Motion Picture Study in Hollywood.
Tickets to "Hollywood Home Movies" are $5 for the general public and $3 for Academy members and students with a valid ID. They will be available beginning August 1 by mail or at the Academy box office during regular business hours. Tickets also may be purchased online at

Santa Monica Film Festival
A prestigious independent film festival that showcases local,

Santa Monica Drive-In Series at the Pier
Date: August 1, 2007 - September 26, 2007
Time: 7.00 doors open for screening at sunset, approx. 8pm
Location: Santa Monica Pier
The summer classic returns - movies over the water and under the
stars! Just bring something - or someone - to keep you warm as the
Pier screens a fun, family-orientated film on a huge screen under
the night sky for nine weeks every tuesday evening from Aug 1st to
Sept 26th. Free admission but tickets required for entry. Tickets
available Wednesday prior to each weeks screening from following
locations: 3 Santa Monica Convention & Visitor Centers, Vidiots or
KIIS Beach Shack on the pier. Screenings benefit the Cancer Relief
Fund - donations welcome on the way out. Rental chairs $5 (proceeds
to Cancer Relief). Parking available in beach lots near the pier
