Environmental Gratitude

The pasty rodents take a while to die after dining on anticoagulants consisting of commercial rodenticides; Bromadialone, Diaphacinone, and Difethialone and now probably more painful delicacies have been added to the menu. These chemicals cause animals to bleed to death internally. It takes a while for the rodents to die this way, and while doing so they have a
tendency to run outdoors where any creature including a dog or cat can consume it and become part of the poisoned food chain.
Two years ago and quite recently, our friendly pioneering land-dwellers poisoned all of our owls and our mountain lions. Just recently our neighbor sat outside feeding her birds and one of the red squirrels that she fed came running to her and died at her side. She cried while relating the story. It is a terrible way to die and a terrible way to watch the planet die.
One of our neighbors was so saddened that he went to the local markets and bought up all of the insecticide and begged the Asian store owner not to purchase any more poison. Really, if squirrels and rodents are a big problem, it might be wise to rethink about the location you have picked to live in.

I just put out a Havahart trap; take a big plastic box and collect all of the family. Then let them go down by the stream, so everyone, especially the starving and fire-ravaged animals have some solid meals while finding a new place to live.
Apparently the chemical companies say that they have come out with a new rodent treat that they say does not interfere with further predator deaths. However, there are enough studies to prove that such results are reliable. And from my small time on this earth, I am not sure if I believe any company enough to take any chances on any death- causing chemicals.
Down the hill, citizens are pleading with the city not to have the last trees in their municipality cut down. City life should be rethought, especially to someone who has a low threshold for wild life, fires, droughts, flooding, and hours of waiting in traffic jams up winding canyons. There might be some bothersome birds landing on your roof due to treeless cities, but that is nothing more than a small hosing down.
Just like the name of the deathless traps, Havahart, tell your neighbors to have a heart and become conscious to their surroundings and take responsibility for their environment!
New scientific findings are discovering that the sweet dew drops that lightly cover the leaves of plants in the morning draw the melodies of the birds around, leaving the plants enhanced and healthier. These are simple things that we can only observe in awe and wonder.
This is something so delicate, so delicious to the mind of man, why not let it be? Work with it and enjoy every moment of how nature takes care of itself without our destructive interference.
