BEVERLY HILLS—Last month actor, bestselling author and famed local painter Thom Bierdz announced the winners of the 2011 American Art Awards. Since arriving in Hollywood, Bierdz has worked hard to reach all of his goals and enjoy the American dream, and thus he is constantly trying to promote other people and their talents. This week we take a look at one of the AAA winners, that President Bierdz is promoting. Artist Hilary Winfield won with her painting Lithosphere. I spoke with Winfield this week to discuss what the honor meant to her and to learn more about her artwork.
A Piece Of Hilary's Winning Artwork
Q-Will you be looking for ways to further your exposure within the art community?
A-“Yes, I am always looking for new ways to meet new people within the art community and to gain exposure for my artwork. For me, one of the greatest aspects of being an artist is connecting with so many wonderful individuals within the art community!”
Q-What is your major goal regarding your work as an artist?
A-“My greatest goal is to create a body of work that communicates to the world who I am, as both an artist and as a person. The greatest compliment that I can receive from one of my collectors is to hear that my artwork has made them happy and enriched their lives in some way. Artwork is deeply personal, and if a painting that I have created speaks to just one person, then I have succeeded in my mission as an artist.”
Q-Do you have a website where people can see your artwork?
The American Art Awards is an annual international competition open to artists in 56 categories ranging from Art Brut to Realism. The event recognizes commercial talent in painting, photography and sculpture.
