SANTA MONICA—Take a deep breath. Ready? Here we go: Hollywood set designs, custom fabricated boxes, Museum displays, doggy doors, lightweight yard walls, boat windows, surfboards, moldings, picture frames, and just about every resin known to man. “Honey do this!” is not a problem when you have Santa Monica Plastics at your disposal.
Rising out of the ashes of Hastings plastics, a fixture for more than 50 years, Santa Monica Plastics has filled the void felt by those in need of custom fabrication of, well, just about anything. After watching the old Hasting building being torn to shreds in order to make room for the incoming Metro Expo Line, some of the ex-employee’s at Hastings realized how much the community still needed them, so Santa Monica Plastics was born.
After just seven months in operation, Santa Monica Plastics has acquired a cult like following, drawing glowing reviews from customers. Eddie D. from Malibu had this to say “With Hastings gone, I was more than a little concerned about where I was going to get the stuff that I needed”¦Luckily, I’ve barely skipped a beat ”“ Santa Monica Plastics has done a great job of filling that void!”
Santa Monica Plastics currently has five hard working employees’ that are determined to expand and provide the community with a drastically needed service. But beyond that, they want to give back to the community and support the disenfranchised by donating a percentage of their profits to charitable organizations.
Whether you’re trying to film your next Hollywood blockbuster or you just have a long “Honey do this” list, Santa Monica Plastics can make your life a whole lot easier. As customer Brettney P. of Santa Monica put it “This is not your corporate run-of-the-mill plastic store, this is your neighborhood plastic store folks!” and they get the job done.
