BEVERLY HILLS—On Tuesday, April 16, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences announced Craig Zadan and Neil Meron would return as producers for the Academy Awards. It will be the second time they produce the Oscars.

Academy president Hawk Coch announced that the Oscars would be hosted on Sunday, March 2, 2014 live on ABC. Coch also said they have the overwhelming support of the Academy’s governors to produce once again.

The February 2013 Academy Awards hosted by Seth Macfarlane drew an average audience of 40.3 million viewers in total and a 13.0 rating in adults from age 18-49.

This year’s Oscar telecast was the most watched in the last three years. The Oscars grew their audience by three percent for the second straight year and 11 percent in the age range 18-49 since 2010. Younger adults 18-34 tuned into the Oscars this year hitting its highest mark since 2006.

Zadan and Meron hope to bring back the Oscar Experience College Search that allows college students to present the statues to the winners. Together they made the 2013 Oscars an interesting and entertaining time with their use of celebrities and music. Zadan and Meron were also producers on Rob Marshall’s “ Chicago,” which won Best Picture in 2002. The Oscars will be held at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland.
