Posted by Contributor on Oct 23, 2011 - 1:25:01 AM

HOLLYWOOD—The highly anticipated “Exit Humanity” received a cast and public screening at the famed Grauman’s Chinese Theartre on Sunday, October 16, as part of LA Screamfest (www.screamfestla.com).

“Exit Humanity” is a film about how history has a violent way of repeating itself. How a man deals with the loss of everything meaningful in his life, and the loss of mankind’s humanity amongst chaos and despair? Set in 1870s Tennessee, “Exit Humanity” is the legend of Edward Young’s horrific and dramatic journey through an unexplainable outbreak of the walking dead to lay to rest the most important thing in his life, his son’s ashes. The bleak post-Civil War era backdrop highlights the severe divide that the United States was facing, and the true loss of hope that so many felt during this period in history. The amazing cast includes, Dee Wallace, Bill Moseley, Stephan McHattie, Mark Gibson, Jordan Hayes, Adam Seybold and Narrated by Brian Cox (“Braveheart,” “Rise of the Planet Apes”); Directed by; John Geddes; Written By; John Geddes; and Produced by Foresight Features.

Screamfest Horror Film Festival is the largest horror film festival in the United States. Some of the largest horror online publications have called it the “Sundance of Horror.” Previously held at Loews Universal Studios Cinemas, Universal CityWalk, the festival is now held annually at the prestigious Grauman’s Mann Chinese 6 in Hollywood. Screamfest premieres and showcases new work from American and international independent horror filmmakers. Film entries are accepted in the categories of Best Feature, Directing, Cinematography, Editing, Special Effects and Musical Score. In addition, there are special categories for Best Animation, Best Short, Best Documentary and Best Student Film.

In addition, Dee Wallace is an expert on fear both on and off camera, so it was no surprise when Mr. Rob Zombie announced the addition of Dee Wallace to the cast of “The Lords of Salem.” She will be playing Sonny, a self-help guru. Wallace has myriad film credits on her resume, most notably “The Hills Have Eyes,” “The Howling,” “The Frighteners” and “CUJO,” as well as Zombie’s own “Halloween” and “The Haunted World of El Superbeasto.” She joins a cast that includes Bruce Dern, Torsten Voges, Ernest Thomas, Meg Foster, and Jeff Daniel Phillips. Zombie also announced that filming will begin in less than two weeks.

As one of the reigning SciFi queens, and star of more than 130 films, Dee discusses her own (heart light) in new book “Bright Light” as we approach the 30th anniversary of the film that made her an icon, “ET: The Extraterrestrial.” Dee one of the few leading ladies to have never been out of work, between TV, commercials and over 130 films. Her favorite? The role of Mary Lewis in “10” with Julie Andrews and the adorable Dudley Moore. Dee is a true tour de force, working with countless directors, producers and some of Hollywood's biggest names including, Peter Jackson, Stephen Spielberg, Wes Craven, Joe Dante, Stephen King and Blake Edwards. An internationally known healer, with two global radio shows and a series of healing seminars. Her new book offers fearless words from the queen of fear films. In her third book, “Bright Light” (O-Books), Dee takes readers along on her own emotional, spiritual and professional journey but even as we cheer for her triumphs and grieve for her unbearable losses.
