HOLLYWOOD—The highly anticipated “Exit Humanity” received a cast and public screening at the famed Grauman’s Chinese Theartre on Sunday, October 16, as part of LA Screamfest (www.screamfestla.com).
“Exit Humanity” is a film about how history has a violent way of repeating itself. How a man deals with the loss of everything meaningful in his life, and the loss of mankind’s humanity amongst chaos and despair? Set in 1870s Tennessee, “Exit Humanity” is the legend of Edward Young’s horrific and dramatic journey through an unexplainable outbreak of the walking dead to lay to rest the most important thing in his life, his son’s ashes. The bleak post-Civil War era backdrop highlights the severe divide that the United States was facing, and the true loss of hope that so many felt during this period in history. Screamfest Horror Film Festival is the largest horror film festival in the United States. Some of the largest horror online publications have called it the “Sundance of Horror.” Previously held at Loews Universal Studios Cinemas, Universal CityWalk, the festival is now held annually at the prestigious Grauman’s Mann Chinese 6 in Hollywood. Screamfest premieres and showcases new work from American and international independent horror filmmakers. Film entries are accepted in the categories of Best Feature, Directing, Cinematography, Editing, Special Effects and Musical Score. In addition, there are special categories for Best Animation, Best Short, Best Documentary and Best Student Film.
In addition, Dee Wallace is an expert on fear both on and off camera, so it was no surprise when Mr. Rob Zombie announced the addition of Dee Wallace to the cast of “The Lords of Salem.” She will be playing Sonny, a self-help guru. Wallace has myriad film credits on her resume, most notably “The Hills Have Eyes,” “The Howling,” “The Frighteners” and “CUJO,” as well as Zombie’s own “Halloween” and “The Haunted World of El Superbeasto.” She joins a cast that includes Bruce Dern, Torsten Voges, Ernest Thomas, Meg Foster, and Jeff Daniel Phillips. Zombie also announced that filming will begin in less than two weeks.
