Fey & Poehler To Host Golden Globes

HOLLYWOOD—Well funnyman Ricky Gervais is out, and funny girls Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are in.  It was announced on Monday, October 15 that “Saturday Night Live” alums Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will co-host the 2013 Golden Globe Awards. 


Both women have comedies on the Peacock network, notably “30 Rock” and “Parks and Recreation” and are proven comedy geniuses.  Now imagine both ladies on the same stage taking jabs at some of the most powerful people in Hollywood: instantaneous hilarity.

Amy Poehler will co-host the 2013 Golden Globes.


“The unparalleled comedic timing of Tina and Amy will surely have viewers wanting to tune-in to see them in action,” said HFPA president Dr. Aida Takla-O’Reilly in a statement. “The HFPA is thrilled to have the magnetic duo be a part of the show’s 70th anniversary!” The 2012 Golden Globes drew in a whopping 16.8 million viewers thanks to the unpredictable Ricky Gervais who did not hold back on the jokes.


Fey has several feature films under her belt including the successful comedy “Mean Girls” which she also wrote.  She also starred alongside Poehler in the comedy “Baby Mama.”  Both ladies have been nominated for Primetime Emmy Awards for their comedic acting and writing. The 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be held at the famous Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday, January 13 at 8pm on NBC.  It’s sure to be a hilarious good time.
