"Jurassic Park IV" Gets A Director

HOLLYWOOD—On Thursday, Universal Pictures announced the name of the director for the upcoming "Jurassic Park IV." In January, the studio announced they would continue moving forward with another sequel to the franchise. Colin Trevorrow “Safety Not Guaranteed” will helm the sequel. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley with Steven Spielberg as executive producer will produce the new movie. Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver "Rise Of The Planet OF The Apes" will write the script.
Trevorrow's flick "Safety Not Guaranteed," was critically acclaimed when it debuted at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival where screenwriter Derek Conolly won the prestigious Waldo Salt screenwriting award. The movie also won the best first screenplay award at this years Independent Spirit Awards, and was nominated for a best first feature film for Colin Trevorrow.
The original 1993 "Jurassic Park" will have a 3D re-release on April 5, and will also be hitting IMAX screens. "Jurassic Park IV" is scheduled to be released in June 2014. This will be the third director in the four-movie franchise with Steven Spielberg directing the first and second, Joe Johnston the third, and Colin Trevorrow with the latest installment.
