"Cinderella," "Taken 3" And Other Movie News

HOLLYWOOD—On Tuesday, June 25, Disney/Marvel announced upcoming movies headed to the multiplex. On the action front, Liam Neeson is expected to return for “Taken 3." One week after Marvel announced two future mystery films set for 2016 and 2017, this week they released another mystery film for July 8, 2016 and Kenneth Branagh’s “Cinderella” was given a 2015 release date.

Liam Neeson will reprise his role in the “Taken” films after the success of the sequel, which made more $375 million worldwide. Neeson will be handsomely rewarded for his skill set with a near $20 million paycheck. Robert Mark Kamen and Luc Besson are set to write the screenplay. Maggie Grace and Famke Janssen are also set to reprise their roles.


Last month saw the release of “Iron Man 3,” which kicked off Marvel’s cinematic universe phase 2, which also includes the second avengers film along with “Thor: The Dark World,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and “Guardians Of The Galaxy.” The mystery dates would be part of Marvel’s cinematic “Phase 3,” which so far contains “Ant-Man” and three mystery films, “The Black Panther” and “Dr. Strange” are likely to be two of those films. “Cinderella” is expected to be released on March 3, 2015.
