The film's director, Refn, previously worked alongside Gosling in 2011's “Drive.” The picture is set in Thailand. Gosling plays Julien who is an operator of a fighting club, but when his brother dies, Julien’s mother (Thomas) sends her son on a manhunt for his brother’s killer portrayed by the Angel of Death.

The newly released trailer starts off with Julien's mother speaking about her son. The trailer then goes into Gosling kicking a man to the floor of a hallway and dragging the man by the roof of his mouth while a lullaby plays. The trailer is red band, which depicts violence including a group of bystanders being shot. The trailer ends with Gosling approaching a group of men and asking Pansringarm's character if he wants to fight.

The film will be distributed by Radius-TWC. It has an R-rating and will hit theatres on July 19. The film is set to premiere at this year Cannes Film Festival in May.
