HOLLYWOOD—This week has been a huge week for movie fans as countless trailers were unleashed to the public. For weeks audiences have been buzzing about the supernatural thriller “The Conjuring;” a follow-up for director James Wan, the man behind “Saw” and 2011’s spookfest “Insidious.”This time around the picture tells the true story of a family who were haunted by evil spirits at their remote home.

The first trailer gave us a few glimpses at some spooky scenes involving Lili Taylor. This new trailer highlights two more important players in the picture Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson as paranormal researchers who tackle the unknown. There are countless spooks seen throughout the piece, giving the audience an idea of what horrors await.Did I mention the picture is rated-R? That means the boundaries can be pushed a bit more than a PG-13 flick. To say this movie is a must-see on my list would be an understatement, I can’t wait until July 19.
For comedy lovers, the hotly-anticipated sequel to “Grown Ups” will arrive this summer. The original gang including Adam Sandler, Kevin James, David Spade, Chris Rock and Salma Hayek all return. The trailer definitely proves laughs are in store for audiences as a well depicted cameo by actor/basketball star Shaquille O’Neal takes place. There is also a highlight from “Twilight” alum Taylor Lautner as a high school jock.Let’s just say a car wash takes place that doesn’t quite go the way James’ character had planned.
Another remake is headed to theaters this fall. That remake is none other than “Carrie,” a new telling of the Brian De Palma’s classic. This tale follows Chloe Grace Moretz as the sheltered Carrie White who unleashes her telekinetic fury on a group of unsuspecting tormentors. Back in the 70s the special effects weren’t that great, so you can only imagine the havoc Carrie will instill on her tormentors at prom. The visuals effects for this new trailer are epic, not to mention the emotional tone of the title character. With Julianne Moore stepping into the shoes as Carrie’s overly religious mother, this picture will indeed be a treat.“Carrie” hits theaters on October 18.
