The Loss Of Tony Scott

SAN PEDROToday the world lost talented director, Tony Scott. Scott was seen parking his car on the Vincent Thomas Bridge and jumping to his death at 12:30 pm in San Pedro. His body was later recovered at 3pm by law enforcement and sent to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, where he was confirmed dead. The police and fire department, highway patrol, and coast guard conducted the search for his body in the river below.  His death is considered suicide, as law enforcement found letters in his office and car.

Scott was born June 21, 1944, in North Shields, Northumberland. He is survived by his wife Donna, two sons Frank and Max, and siblings Ridley and Frank Scott.

Scott was known for directing classic films such as “Top Gun” with Tom Cruise,” "Beverly Hills Cop II” with Eddie Murphy, and “Enemy of The State” with Will Smith. He also directed films such as “Days of Thunder”, “True Romance”, and “Crimson Tide.” The director was working on an upcoming miniseries, a film titled “Killing Lincoln,” and was considering a sequel to “Top Gun.”

Many followers and beloved fans are thanking him on Facebook for producing some of their favorite films, such as “The Hunger,” and are saddened at the thought of no more Tony Scott films.
