HOLLYWOOD HILLS—On Wednesday, August 7, Warner Bros. celebrated the 75th anniversary of “The Wizard Of Oz” with a world IMAX premiere of the film. The TCL Chinese theatre will showcase it’s first ever IMAX 3D release at the new TCL Chinese theatre IMAX in Hollywood on September 15.

The screening of “The Wizard of Oz” will be followed by an exclusive one-week IMAX engagement at the new theatre and IMAX theatres across the country beginning on September 20. After being closed for the summer, the TCL Chinese theatre will re-open as IMAX’s largest auditorium in the world.

“The Wizard Of Oz” has many historic ties to the TCL Chinese theatre such as being the place that inspired composer Harold Arlen to write “Over The Rainbow.” The film also had its original world premiere at the TCL Chinese theatre.
