“The Great Gatsby” stars Leonardo Dicaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher and Jason Clarke. Its 51 million weekend box office really surprised since the film isn’t getting the best reviews citing Luhrmann’s style has become to repetitive.

“Iron Man 3” starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle and Guy Pearce continues to hold a grip and the box office. The movie continues its dominance overseas as it added $89 million over the weekend to bring its international total to $664 million and has collectively grossed $949 million.

“The Great Gatsby” is Luhrmann’s fifth film in 20 years, which include “Strictly Ballroom” (1992), “Romeo + Juliet” (1996), “Moulin Rouge!” (2001) and “ Australia” (2008). This coming weekend is set to be another box-office breaking weekend with the release of “Star Trek Into Darkness."
