BEVERLY HILLS—Summer of 2012 has already delivered several great films. With the likes of The Avengers, Men in Black III, Prometheus, Rock of Ages, Moonrise Kingdom and several others, the theater has been a good refuge from the heat with more good movies coming this summer than recent summers past. However, with just half of the summer left, there are still many great films to come. Here are few to anticipate:
The Dark Knight Rises: The most anticipated film of the summer. Featuring Tom Hardy and Christian Bale, “The Dark Knight Rises” is Christopher Nolan’s epic ending to the Batman Trilogy. “The Dark Knight Rises” opens Friday, July 20.
The Watch: With so many alien movies coming out of late, the syfy comedy titled “The Watch” should be a breath of fresh air. Feature an all-star line up including Ben Stiller, Jonah Hill, and Vince Vaughn, “The Watch” tells the story of suburban dads who set up a neighborhood watch in order to escape their day to day routines, however instead of catching burglars or teenage scoundrels, they find themselves defending the earth from an alien invasion. “The Watch” opens Friday, July 27th.
The Bourne Legacy: Bourne is back, only this time as Jeremy Renner from the hurt locker. Jeremy Renner plays a new CIA operative in this film based off Robert Ludlum’s novels. “The Bourne Legacy” opens Friday, August 10th.
The Campaign: With the highly anticipated campaign of 2012, this film featuring Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis will surely make light of the situation. See “The Campaign” on Friday, August 10th.
Hope Springs: “Hope Springs” is a comedy/drama about a devoted couple (Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones) who attempt to find a new spark in their marriage through marriage counseling with a couple’s specialist played by Steve Carell. “Hope Springs” hits the theaters on Friday, August 10th.
