HOLLYWOOD—If you're in the mood for a little fun with your murder mystery, then check out "The Thin Man." Based on author Dashiell Hammet's 1932 story, William Powell and Myrna Loy add style and sass to the title characters of Nick and Nora Charles.
The story centers around an eccentric inventor, Wynant, who disappears shortly after learning his girlfriend has been stealing from him. Soon after Wynant disappears, several people find themselves murdered. All fingers appear to point at Wynant. After much prodding from Wynant's daughter (Maureen O'Sullivan), the retired detective Nick Charles begins to pursue the case. Wrapped up in the disappearance is a potpourri of unique characters, including a young Cesar Romero. Each seems to have a shadier side, which casts doubt on their own innocence and thickens the plot behind Wynant's absence.
You'll be entertained by the rapport of Nick and Nora, along with their dog Asta. With alcohol in hand and a great sense of style, they take on the bad guys, but the question remains, who is really the bad guy or gal? If you have 90 minutes to spare, you can unlock the mystery of just who is the thin man.
