Health Bars

These bars are delicious and couldn't be more healthy. Note that there are no eggs in this recipe and be sure that unsweetened applesauce is used.

1 cup uncooked multi-grain hot cereal
1/2 cup raw oatmeal
1 cup raisins (or other dried fruit as desired)
3/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/3 cup brown sugar(packed)
1/4 cup oil
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9 inch baking pan with vegetable oil spray.Combine cereal, raisins, flour, baking soda and cinnamon in medium bowl. Beat brown sugar and oil in large bowl until well blended.Add applesauce and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and stir just until combined. Spread evenly in pan and bake until golden brown, firm to touch and tester comes out clean (about 30 minutes).Cut while warm and allow bars to cool completely in pan.
