Three-Grain Oven Pilaf

This is an unusual and delicious pilaf, healthy and filling.

2 cups chicken broth
1 Tbs butter or margarine
1/4 cup sliced green onions
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 cup bulgur wheat
1/4 cup brown rice
1/4 cup pearl barley
3 dashes hot pepper sauce
2 Tbs minced parsley

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In saucepan or microwave oven dish, bring broth and butter to a boil. Meanwhile, in two quart casserole, add onion, garlic, wheat, rice and barley. Pour broth mixture over grains, cover tightly, and bake for 40 minutes or until barley and rice are tender and most of the liquid is absorbed. Stir in pepper sauce and parsley, cover and allow to stand for five minutes. Serves four to six.
