Here's a delicious sandwich with homemade bread that is perfect for a party.

1/2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats (oatmeal)

1 cup scalded milk

1/4 cup shortening plus 2 Tbs. butter

1/4 cup sugar

1 tsp. salt

Place all above ingredients into a large bowl, stir and let stand for five minutes. Meanwhile, dissolve l pkg. yeast (quick-rising) in 1/4 cup hot water (125-130 degrees) and 1/4 tsp. sugar. Let stand until foamy (about 5 mins.) Beat two eggs and reserve 1 Tbs.  Add 1 Tbs. dried minced onion to beaten eggs. Add egg and yeast mixture to oat mixture. Add 2 cups flour and beat well. Add 1 1/2 cups flour and beat well. Cover and let rise in warm place for 1/2 hour. Stir down and spread dough into a 10-inch circle on well-greased 12-inch pizza pan. Cover and let rise again for 1/2 hour. Brush on remaining egg. Top with 1 Tbs. minced onion, 1 Tbs. sesame seeds, coarse salt and garlic powder or 1 tsp. garlic salt. Bake at 350 degrees 25-30 minutes. Cool. Remove from pan and split into two layers. On top layer spread 1/2 cup mayo mixed with 4 tsp. mustard and 1/2 tsp. horseradish. Put sliced ham, turkey and cheese of choice on bottom layer. Top with sliced onions and tomatoes or choice of filling. Replace top slice and cut into 12 wedges. Serve.
