UCLA: Keeping It Bruin
WESTWOOD—The UCLA Bruins advanced to the NCAA Men’s College World Series on Saturday after a 4-1 victory over TCU at Jackie Robinson Stadium. The win was the second in a best of 3 series after the Bruins beat the Horned Frogs 6-2 Friday Night in Westwood.
Nick Vander Tuig pitched six strong innings, giving up just one earned run and David Berg finished the job with a three inning save.
Trevor Brown began the scoring for the Bruins in the second inning with an RBI triple. Tyler Heineman brought in another run for the Bruins in the third. Brance Rivera hit a home run in the bottom of the third for the Horned Frogs’ only run of the game.
Jeff Gelalich added a run with an RBI double in the sixth and Cody Keefer tacked on another in the seventh.
UCLA advances to the NCAA College World series for the fourth time in the program’s history.
