WESTWOOD—When September comes around one thing on students' minds is college football. It’s common knowledge across the country that the fall equals football time.
WESTWOOD—In every sport there are always two sides to the game. There’s the physical side, but on the other hand there is a side that doesn’t get too much attention.
WESTWOOD
—In the world of professional sports everyone is admired and praised by fans. It’s hard for them to go anywhere without people asking them to pose for a picture.
WESTWOOD—For almost 30 years Coach John Wooden was the head basketball coach at UCLA, leading them to 11 national championships and establishing himself as one of the best coaches in history.
WESTWOOD—After a trip to Palo Alto this past weekend the Bruins came back with their first loss of the season. The loss to Stanford was the first in six years.
WESTWOOD—The Bruins’ early success is in part due to Redshirt Freshman Johnathan Franklin. This year he shows what he can do and has helped propel the Bruins to an undefeated record so far.
WESTWOOD—Everyone knows that when it comes to sports, whether it’s an individual one like track or a team sport like basketball, there are always people around you trying to help you out.
WESTWOOD—This
may be just the second game of the season, but UCLA is already showing a lot of
promise. The Bruins didn’t come out of the game completely. Quarterback Kevin
Prince suffered a broken jaw.
WESTWOOD—Now that college football is back on the scene, there is not
too much talk about some of the other sports going on at UCLA, but the men’s
soccer team stole the spotlight during the games.
WESTWOOD—Coming
to UCLA I had a lot of goals. I wanted good grades, to meet a lot of new people
and to win a Pac-10 Championship; however, one goal that passes all the rest is
meeting coach John Wooden.
WESTWOOD—There are only two days left in training camp, but it feels like a month. Everyone on the team has one thing in mind—4-8. Last season, as a team we fell short of all the goals we had set for the year.
WESTWOOD—I’ve
been talking about it for a few weeks and for all you UCLA football
fans out there that moment is finally here. The Bruins began training
camp, and are less than a month away from their first game.
WESTWOOD—The day we have all been anxiously waiting is
almost here. In a little over a week the Bruins begin training camp and when done,
the college football season will finally be upon us.
