People Are Talking About "The Voice!"
Posted by Michael St John on Sep 9, 2012 - 9:38:41 AM

HOLLYWOODHELLO AMERICA!  Without question the NBC TV show “The Voice” has proven to be one of the freshest and most watchable entertainment show to to date.  The assemble of judges Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, Christina Aquilera and Blake Shelton is a clever combination of fun, rebellion and utter insanity when attempting to agree on anything.  And we love it!

Aquilera makes it quite clear that she is the grand dame of the show, after all she’s been in front of the camera since childhood, learning the biz by way of Disney. She doesn’t mind voicing her opinion about anything or anybody. Of course, at times, how she judges certain talents upsets her old pal Blake Shelton who seems to get pleasure out of opposing anything she might suggest.

Adam Levine has made it quite clear that he will take no prisoners during the new season. “I’m going to fight to the end for any of the talents I’m responsible for,” he offered. “There were times in the past that I didn’t push as hard as I should, but believe me, you’re going to see a new Adam Levine.”  As for his relationship with Queen Christina, he laughed. “She’s great and it’s fun fighting with her ever so often. She’s like a mother in residence, and I enjoy challenging her.”

As for Cee Lo Green, who has a reputation for telling it like it is, makes it very clear that he doesn’t plan to be any different from what the public has already perceived who he is. “I love doing the show,” he says, “because I know how important it is for those who finally make the show. Another thing I’d like to add, just because I might not dig what a contestant sings doesn’t mean they are not marketable.  I try to put myself in the place of the masses, consider their taste, not only mine. There are a lot of singers out there that I wouldn’t want to live next door to, but there might be a tremendous market for what and how they perform. And a good judge shouldn’t forget that”. Green also made it clear that he appreciated all the positive reviews he’s received for his performance in the film “Sparkle”, spotlighting Houston’s last performance.  “She was a brief gift to all of us,” he noted. “Her voice was all about the challenge to love.”

One cannot forget about Blake Sheldon who seems to enjoy setting off a storm of enjoyable conflict exchanges among the celebrity judges. The country singer doesn’t hesitate to emphasize that he enjoys confronting Christina when, in his opinion, doesn’t give certain singers a fair shake.  “Don’t get me wrong,” he offered, “I love her. She’s talented, even brilliant at what she does, but there are times when she believes that whatever she says should be accepted without question, and that’s something this country boy won’t go along with. That’s when we lock horns ”“ but it’s all in fun. She’s like a little sister.”

No matter what, The Voice is the show that should not be missed. It’s good to see that NBC is doing something really right and significant. Take it from “The Saint”.
