Beyoncé To Perform At Super Bowl XLVII
Posted by LaDale Anderson on Oct 17, 2012 - 6:42:18 AM

HOLLYWOOD—Its looks like Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans just got more exciting with the news that pop superstar Beyoncé will perform during the half-time show.  In the past, acts such as Madonna, The Black-Eyed Peas, Prince and the infamous Janet Jackson & Justin Timerblake pairing graced the stage.  Knowles who came to fame with the girl group Destiny’s Child in the late 90s, has since spawned a successful solo career.

The singer has four #1 albums under her belt, countless #1 hits and spawned perhaps the most memorable song in the past 20 years with “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).”  That single spawned more YouTube video spoofs than any other song in history.  She has a won 16 Grammys and starred in several feature films.

The big question that everyone wants to know is just what Mrs. Knowles has planned for the audience.  She has disappeared from the limelight since giving birth to a baby girl, Blue Ivy, back in January of this year.  Her last album “4” was released to mix reviews back in 2011.   It’s no secret she’s been working in the studio so the public will likely get a taste of a first single from her upcoming album.

A notable surprise that could occur on the stage is an appearance by hubby Jay-Z.  The two have performed countless songs together including her 2003 infectious hit “Crazy in Love.”  What would perhaps please fans worldwide would be the reunion of Destiny’s Child on stage to perform some of their greatest hits; the trio parted ways several years ago to focus on solo careers and other business endeavors.

Super Bowl XLVII will take place on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the Mercedes Benz Superdome. I’m sure it’ll be a half-time show people will not soon forget.
