LOS ANGELES—The former nanny of R&B singer, Usher, is suing him for wrongful termination, failure to pay wages, and other unspecified reasons after working for the singer for nearly two years.
Usher with son Usher, 5, and Nayvid, 4.
Cecilia Duncan alleges that after being hired as a part-time nanny for “The Voice” mentor’s two sons, Usher, 5, and Nayvid, 4, in December 2010, she was not paid overtime even though some weeks she claims she worked well over 35 hours.
Duncan stated that she voiced her concerns to Usher, but was not given a raise or paid overtime for her extra work and later let go in September 2012.
The ex-nanny is reportedly asking for a six-figure settlement for the damages. Usher’s reps released a statement asserting that the allegations made by
Duncan are totally false.
Usher has endured other controversial court cases in the past. In the summer of 2012 he and ex-wife, Tameka Reynolds, battled for custody of their child in which the singer was eventually awarded sole custody.
