Hollywood Star, Eileen Fulton Heads To NYC
Posted by Tommy Garrett on May 16, 2009 - 4:20:00 PM

HOLLYWOOD—"As the World Turns" star Eileen Fulton will be performing at New York City’s Metropolitan Room on June 5 and June 6. The Cabaret princess who has portrayed the character of Lisa on the daytime soap since 1960 has been seen on the show lately working opposite Italian actor Paolo Seganti. But Lisa’s a staple in Oakdale and the diva who is the only soap actress who had a prime time drama created for her character has a first love of her own—its stage and cabaret.

“I came to Hollywood and to New York to work in front of a live audience. I grew up in church being a preacher’s daughter. So I knew early in my life that if you learned how to sing and perform, that an audience would love you.” Love is a word often used when describing Eileen’s work on stage. Last year the beautiful star performed at the famed Feinstein’s on Park Avenue to sold out shows each night.

Eileen invited me as her special guest and I was treated like royalty, which is something the wonderful actress/singer does for every guest, whether personally invited or just there to hear her show.

Pairing with the great Bob Goldstone as her music director, she also will be accompanied by Tom Hubbard on bass and Ron Tierno on drums. Fulton is one of the most unforgettable ladies of cabaret and the award winner simply enchants the audience and seemingly puts fans in a trance while showcasing her musical and theatrical skills.

Showtime is 7:30 p.m. both nights. And reservations are required.

The Metropolitan Room is at 34 W. 22
nd St., NYC. 212-206-0440.
