NEW YORK—On Saturday, May 18, Kanye West premiered two new songs on “Saturday Night Live.” “Black Skinhead” and “New Slaves” are the names of the new singles from West’s forth coming album tentatively titled “Yeezus.”
He performed “Black Skinhead” over a dark video with subliminal pictures. He rapped over a dark beat filled with synths of an anger filled verse about race rapping involving a black man and white woman. These aren’t the same songs West has been releasing like “Mercy” and “Clique,” which talk about money and materialism.
The song “New Slaves,” involves the rapper talking about how himself along with everybody else who spends their money on materialistic possessions and that we have become the new slaves locked into this form of consumerism. He premiered the video to "New Slaves" on Friday in 66 different locations around the world projected up to local buildings.
He is known for his longtime relationship with good friend Jay-Z. This will be West’s sixth solo album and his first solo album since “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.” The rapper is also known for his public relationship with reality star Kim Kardashian.
