BROOKLYN—It may be time to brush up on those “Bye, Bye, Bye” dance moves as this year’s MTV VMA show may come with a much anticipated reunion of boy band N’ Sync.

According to reports, the five former bandmates will once again grace the stage together on Sunday night at the Barclays Center. Rumors of the reunion began after some members of Timberlake’s former crew, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick, were spotted in the VIP section for Timberlake’s concert with Jay Z in Miami on Friday, August 16. J.C. Chasez was unable to make the trip due to work related conflicts in California.

On his SiriusXM show “Dirty Pop with Lance Bass,” the former band member addressed the rumors. "Justin Timberlake is getting the Michael Jackson Vangaurd Award this Sunday at the awards, so of course people are automatically going to think we’re going to be there performing,” Bass said.

He also referred to a photo he posted on Instagram of himself, Fatone and Kirkpatrick at the Timberlake’s Miami concert, a photo which he says further encouraged reunion rumors.

“It’s amazing to see the reaction out there on Twitter and social media and how many people are supporting N’ Sync,” Bass said. “It’s so nice to see because when we ended things 10 years ago, there was no social media, there was no Twitter, but it’s so cool to see how many people are supporting us.”

The Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award is given to artists for their innovative impact in the music video world. Timberlake is also nominated for six awards including Video of the Year for his music video “Mirrors.”
