West Hollywood Meets The Middle East

WEST HOLLYWOOD—Screaming "Kill the Jews", the mob set upon the two young men and beat and stomped them mercilessly in the street. Nazi Germany 1938? Tehran 1979? No, it's West Hollywood, September 15 , 2002. On that date, as part of a promotion at Goodbar nightclub entitled "Persian Night", apparently the Persians got too Persianed-up and went on a frightening anti-Semitic rampage on the streets of West Hollywood. And so, with a sickening thud, militant Islam has landed in our midst, along with the attendant stench of cultural intolerance and religious hatred. Imported "Jihad" on American streets. Sectarian strife brought to our shores by a virulent theocracy that vows to destroy us. Gee thanks, Allah. We love you too...

Militant Islam has declared war against our democracy and our civilization, and we underestimate that at our own risk. This local attack on our streets was merely one manifestation of that multi-faceted war, and demonstrates the potential for violence amongst people filled with hate. And it will only get worse. How long will it be before Mosques in this country begin sounding the clarion call to "Holy War" to their worshipers, as, apparently, occurred at the Goodbar that night? And how long before Islamic terrorist cells in the United States, like an opportunistic and deadly cancer, begin to metastasize throughout our society? Sound paranoid? Overly harsh? I don't think so. Radical Islam is on the move, sensing hesitation and confusion among the western democracies, and knowing full well that American cultural tolerance and religious secularism are its allies. This is not a good time to blink, lest History views the early 21st Century as sowing the seeds of a new Muslim Empire, steeped in intolerance and brutality, and bent on dominance.

Fascism, whether political or theological, is too dangerous to tolerate anywhere in the world, particularly here in the U.S. Consequently, the only way to deal with radical religious ideology is to de-radicalize it, before it attempts to destroy us. So, whether in the mountains of Afghanistan or on the streets of West Hollywood, Islamic terrorism, along with its thugs and fanatics, must be eradicated once and for all. A civilized world deserves nothing less.
